Verification & Field Assurance
Independent, on-site checks of inventory, fixed assets, outlets, channels and vendors, planned in detail and reported so that management can rely on them.
Overview
Records say what should be there. Field checks show what actually is: the stock on the shelves, the assets on the floor, the service a customer receives at the counter, and the documents behind a claim. When the two differ, decisions made on the records go wrong.
Where this helps
Common situations
Inventory
- 01Physical stock does not match the books, and the difference comes to light only at year-end.
- 02Stock sits across factories, warehouses, depots, consignment agents and job workers, and has never been counted at one cut-off.
- 03A lender asks for a stock audit, or for stock statements verified against physical stock.
- 04Slow-moving, damaged and expired stock stays in the books at full value.
- 05Goods in transit, goods with job workers and customer returns are counted twice or not at all.
Fixed assets
- 06The fixed-asset register has not been physically verified for years.
- 07Assets cannot be matched to the register because they carry no tags or numbers.
- 08Assets have been moved between locations or scrapped, but the register still shows them where they were.
- 09Laptops, tools and equipment issued to employees are not tracked once they leave the store.
Outlets and customer experience
- 10Branches and outlets do not follow the service standards set by head office.
- 11Bank branches handle customer requests, product sales and complaints differently from one location to another.
- 12Fuel stations, departmental stores and retail outlets show differences in pricing, quantity, upkeep or service.
- 13Telecom stores and franchise outlets skip activation, KYC or documentation steps.
Channels and vendors
- 14Distributor stock, secondary sales and scheme claims cannot be verified from the documents received.
- 15New vendors are onboarded without confirming that they exist and can deliver.
Employees and expenses
- 16Tax-saving investment proofs and reimbursement claims are accepted without verification.
- 17Business expenses are booked without adequate supporting documents.
How we help
What we do and how we work
Inventory Audit & Stock Verification
An inventory audit is only as reliable as its planning. Before any count, we study stock locations, item categories, movement patterns and records, and agree count procedures, teams and cut-off points with management. Counts are then carried out with rigour, whether full, cyclical or surprise, and every difference is reconciled to the books item by item. The report gives management an accurate position it can rely on for decisions. We carry out inventory audits across industries, including manufacturing, FMCG and distribution, retail, pharmaceuticals, engineering and construction.
Includes
- count planning and instructions
- cut-off procedures
- full, cycle and surprise counts
- third-party, consignment and job-worker stock confirmation
- reconciliation of differences
- review of slow-moving, damaged and expired stock
- stock audits for lenders
- inventory audit report
Fixed Asset Verification & Tagging
We physically verify fixed assets against the register. Where assets cannot be identified, we establish an asset tagging process: we design the numbering scheme, prepare and fix barcode or QR tags, and update the register with tag numbers and locations. Regular verification and asset control procedures then keep the register accurate as assets move, are issued or are disposed of.
Includes
- physical verification against the register
- tagging policy and numbering scheme
- preparation and fixing of tags
- register update with tags and locations
- reconciliation of differences
- periodic verification and monitoring
- controls over asset movement, issue and disposal
Mystery Audits & Special Field Audits
Our auditors visit as ordinary customers and record the experience against standards agreed with you. We conduct mystery audits for banks, fuel stations, departmental stores and other retail outlets, telecom stores and franchises, and other businesses that serve customers through many locations. Each visit is scored and documented, and results are compared across locations and over time. We also carry out special field audits, such as surprise cash and stock checks at outlets.
Includes
- checklist design with management
- planned visit schedules
- scoring against SOPs and service standards
- photo and time-stamped evidence
- location-wise scorecards
- trend reports
- surprise outlet checks
Channel & Distributor Audits
We verify distributor stock, secondary sales and scheme and claim submissions against records and supporting documents, at the distributor's premises where needed.
Includes
- distributor stock verification
- secondary-sales validation
- scheme and claim verification
- distributor-wise exception reports
Third-Party & Vendor Verification
Before onboarding, we check that vendors exist at the stated address, hold the documents they claim, and have the capacity to deliver what they quote for.
Includes
- site visits
- registration and document checks
- capacity assessment
- vendor verification reports
Employee & Expense Verification
We verify tax-saving investment proofs, HR documents, reimbursement claims and business expenses against policy and supporting evidence.

Frequently asked questions
Questions people ask
Why does planning matter so much in an inventory audit?
Most count errors come from unclear cut-offs, stock in transit, or locations left out. Detailed planning settles these before the count, so the result can be relied on.
Can you count stock at many locations on the same day?
Yes. We deploy teams across locations and agree a common cut-off, so all stock is counted at the same point in time.
Do you prepare the asset tags?
Yes. We design the numbering scheme, prepare barcode or QR tags and fix them on the assets, and update the register to match.
Will outlet staff know about a mystery audit?
No. Visits are made as ordinary customers, and results are shared only with management.
Which industries do you conduct mystery audits for?
Banks, fuel stations, departmental stores and other retail chains, telecom stores and franchises, and other businesses that serve customers through many outlets.
Can you carry out a stock audit for our bank?
We carry out stock audits when appointed by the lender, and independent stock verification when appointed by management.
Services are offered subject to applicable independence requirements.
