Core Professional Services
Individuals & NRI Services
Personal tax, capital gains, property transactions, residential status and repatriation for resident individuals, families and non-resident Indians.
Overview
Personal tax has become more involved. Income now comes from salary, investments, property, ESOPs and accounts in more than one country; the tax department sees much of it through AIS before the return is filed; and NRIs face TDS, treaty and repatriation rules that differ from those for residents.
Where this helps
Common situations
Resident individuals
- 01You are unsure whether the old or the new tax regime is better for you this year.
- 02AIS shows income that the return did not report, and a notice has arrived.
- 03Shares, mutual funds or ESOPs were sold, and gains must be worked out across many transactions.
- 04A house was sold, and the gain must be reinvested correctly to claim the exemption.
- 05Foreign shares, RSUs or bank accounts held abroad must be reported in the return.
Non-resident Indians
- 06You are selling property in India, and the buyer wants to deduct tax on the full sale price.
- 07Income earned in India and abroad may be taxed twice.
- 08Rent, interest and dividends earned in India need a return and the correct TDS.
- 09Money from a property sale or NRO balances must be sent abroad.
- 10The bank asks for Form 15CA and Form 146 (earlier Form 146 (earlier Form 15CB)) before it will remit funds.
Returning NRIs
- 11You are moving back to India and want to know when your global income becomes taxable here.
- 12Foreign retirement accounts, deposits and investments need planning before you return.
Families
- 13A HUF needs its own return and tax planning.
- 14Elderly parents need help with returns, refunds and TDS on pensions and deposits.
- 15Inherited property or investments must be transferred, and their tax effect understood.
How we help
Our services and how we work
Personal Tax Returns & Planning

- regime comparison
- advance tax
- AIS and Form 168 (earlier Form 26AS) reconciliation

Property Transactions & TDS

Frequently asked questions
Questions people ask
Does an NRI need to file a tax return in India?
Yes, if taxable income in India exceeds the basic exemption limit, or to claim a refund of excess TDS.
Can an NRI reduce TDS when selling property?
Yes. Before the sale, the NRI can apply for a lower deduction certificate based on the actual gain, so the buyer deducts tax only on that amount.
How much can an NRI send abroad from an NRO account?
RBI rules allow up to USD 1 million per financial year from NRO balances, including property sale proceeds, subject to tax and the required documents.
What is RNOR status?
Returning NRIs may qualify as "Resident but Not Ordinarily Resident" for a period after returning. During this period, foreign income is generally not taxed in India.
Do I have to report foreign assets even if no tax is due?
Yes. Residents must report foreign assets and income in their return, even when no tax is payable on them.
Old or new tax regime: which is better for me?
It depends on your income and deductions. We compare both each year before you file.
